Airplane cemetery-USA Used Aircraft Group

This is Davis-Monson Air Force Base, which is operated by the U.S. Army's 309 Aviation Maintenance and Reconstruction Center (309 AMARG). About 4,400 aircraft are parked here, distributed on 2,600 acres (10.5 square kilometers) of land. Some planes seem to have just arrived here a few hours ago, and some have been covered with protective covers to protect them from sand and dust. In the aircraft depot, some aircraft will be split into spare parts, waiting to be transported to other U.S. military bases inside and outside the United States to help other aircraft return to the blue sky. For those who work here, Davis-Monson Air Force Base also has a popular name - "Airplane Cemetery".

Davis Monson is not the only aircraft cemetery in the world, but it is second to none in scale. Arizona has a dry climate, extremely low humidity, and little rain all year round, which greatly slows down the speed of aircraft rust and degradation.

In addition, there is a clay-like calcium layer below the 6-inch-thick surface soil. 309 AMARG SAID THAT WITH THIS HIGH-HARDNESS UNDERLAYER, THERE IS NO NEED TO BUILD A NEW APRON AT A HUGE EXPENSE, AND THE PLANE CAN BE PARKED DIRECTLY IN THE DESERT.
